Full Focus Driver Conrad Garrow wins Asia Championship

ROK Cup Asia Championship Podium

Conrad Garrow has been crowned ROK Cup Asia champion in the Junior category after a phenomenal performance in the final round, held at Singapore’s KF1 karting circuit in Kranji. He started the final round as the underdog in the championship battle, but emerged with the title after a win in the Heat, and 2nd place in the Pre-Final, followed by crossing the line 1st in the Final.

An unfortunate drop-bumper penalty (which comes with an automative 5-second penalty) during the opening lap of the final meant that Conrad had to put in lap after lap of blistering pace to build up enough of a gap to finish inside the top-4 and ahead of championship rival Poomsit Klombunjong. He pulled out enough of a gap to the field to finish in 3rd place, sealing the deal!

The ROK Cup Asia title comes with a ticket to the ROK Cup SuperFinals to be held in Italy in October.

Conrad has two simulators at home – a KartSim very much like the one at the Full Focus Sim Lab, and a car simulator similar to our Clubman Sim. He has used the simulators to prepare for his real-life driving, with coaching provided by Full Focus Driver Coaching / Mikko Nassi. The KartSim has proved invaluable in preparation for new tracks that Conrad has raced at this year, such as Ipswich in Australia. It’s also great practice for developing focus and overall racing technique.

Congratulations Conrad!

Congratulations also to Kareen Kaur for her impressive 2nd place finish in the ROK Senior Category and 3rd place overall in the ROK Singapore standings! Kareen has been to the Full Focus Sim Lab several times over the past few weeks in preparation for her recent and upcoming Formula 4 races. Mikko was coaching her at her first ever F4 race in Coimbatore, India.

Finally the latest addition to the driver coached by Full Focus, Raja Gunn had his first karting race in Singapore. The 9-year old only started karting in Canada a few months ago, but was able to consistently find lap within 1 second of some of the fastest cadet drivers in Asia!
